The premier annual maintenance and technical purchasing conference in Latin American and the Caribbean aviation begins

The ALTA CCMA & MRO Conference will count with the participation of more than 700 representatives of airlines and suppliers

Cancun, May 24, 2019 – The Latin American and Caribbean Air Transport Association (ALTA) will once again gather more than 700 experts in maintenance, technology and technical purchasing at the ALTA CCMA & MRO Conference that will take place from May 26 to 28 of 2019 at the Marriott Hotel Convention Center in Cancun, Mexico.

The ALTA CCMA & MRO Conference is the premier annual maintenance and technical purchasing conference for the aviation industry in the Latin America and the Caribbean region, recognized for bringing together purchasing and maintenance executives of the airlines operating in the region with experts in technologies, parts, repair and maintenance stations.

This year’s agenda will feature multiple networking spaces, meetings between airlines and suppliers, interactive sessions, hundreds of mini meetings, an academic agenda focused on latest trends and human resources and an exhibition area with booths from 10 companies and more than 85 table tops of 79 companies.

The ALTA CCMA & MRO Conference 2019 will be focused on taking the most advantage of assets, the data they generate and the opportunities offered by technology to reduce costs and increase efficiency, responding to the four key pillars of the conference: innovation, technology, efficiency and regulations to maximize aviation’s economic and social footprint in the region.

Luis Felipe de Oliveira, ALTA’s Executive Director & CEO, comments: “In 2018, the costs of maintenance, materials, and repairs accounted for 6% of the total operating costs of the airlines in the region. If we sum the high fuel costs, fees and taxes we have in the region, the operation becomes very complicated. In ALTA we seek to provide meeting spaces like this conference to discuss initiatives that manage to reduce costs and increase efficiency in a way that is safe and responsible with the environment. The ALTA CCMA & MRO Conference is the largest meeting place for industry experts that will make possible the use of more efficient technologies and mechanisms to improve operating costs.”

Among the innovations of this year, ALTA will offer, through its YouTube channel, the live broadcast of the discussion panels and presentations of the academic agenda. Follow ALTA’s YouTube channel here.

“This year we will receive more than 700 executives from 41 airlines and more than 300 industry suppliers with multiple interaction and capacity building activities that we are convinced will add value to all. We thank all the sponsors that make this conference possible,” de Oliveira added.
