Lufthansa Group joins ALTA’s associated airlines group

Panama, October 25, 2018 – The Latin American and Caribbean Air Transport Association (ALTA) is pleased to announce that its group of member airlines continues to expand and strengthen with the arrival of the Lufthansa Group: an aviation group with operations throughout the world and strong relations with Latin America and the Caribbean.

Companies from the Lufthansa Group are long-standing members of ALTA: Lufthansa Systems is an active member since 2004 and Lufthansa Technik since 2013. Now, the airline segment, integrated by Austrian Airlines, Lufthansa, SWISS, Brussels Airlines and Eurowings, joined.

Lufthansa is the largest airline in Europe and a very important transport company for the Latin American market. The arrival of Lufthansa Group to ALTA will allow us to jointly work on projects to increase connectivity with the rest of the world and contribute to the economic and social development of the region”.

Lufthansa joins the group of 11 ALTA member airlines with origins outside Latin America and the Caribbean that have operations in the region.
