Panama, January 20, 2020 – ALTA Executive Director & CEO, Luis Felipe de Oliveira, announces his resignment after three years serving the association.

Under the leadership of Luis Felipe de Oliveira, the Latin American and Caribbean Air Transport Association (ALTA) reached important milestones, including the arrival of more than 30 new members to the association with a regional strategy differentiated, effective and focused on serving the entire value chain of the aviation industry and the countries of the region.

“ALTA is today a robust association with very clear objectives and a committed and specialized team. I leave ALTA very proud of the professionals who remain in charge of the association. For reasons of personal nature I need to pursue another path and I am convinced that in the coming months and years we will see ALTA continue to increase its service and delivery for the benefit of its members, the industry and the people of the region”.

“On behalf of the ALTA Executive Committee, I thank Luis Felipe for his commitment as executive director. Luis Felipe gave the association a new perspective and energy that quickly translated into effective management that increasingly adds more value to the members. The selection process of the new executive director is being conducted by an external company and in the coming months we will be announcing the person in charge”, said Pedro Heilbron, President of Copa Airlines and President of the ALTA Executive Committee.

“It has been an honor for me to be part of ALTA and its effort to develop aviation as the great engine of economic and social growth in the region. In the coming months I will be supporting the new executive director of ALTA in the transition process, I am sure that there will be many more successes for this great association”, said de Oliveira.
