Panama, January 9th, 2019 – Chevron, a world-class energy company with 140 years of history, joins the important list of affiliated members of the Latin American and Caribbean Air Transport Association (ALTA).
Chevron is one of the largest integrated energy companies worldwide. The company is engaged in every aspect of the oil and natural gas industry, which includes exploration and production; refining, marketing and transportation; chemicals manufacturing and sales; and power generation.
In the jet fuel distribution and trade market, Chevron has 85 years of experience and currently serves 93 airports in 19 countries in North America, Asia Pacific, Latin America and the Middle East and supplies 139 aviation customers globally on a direct basis. These customers are broken down as commercial airlines, cargo airlines and resellers that equates to nearly 300,000 BPD of jet and avgas sales.
Luis Felipe de Oliveira, ALTA Executive Director & CEO, commented on this new inclusion that “Chevron is a great strategic partner for the industry with a strong global commercialization network. Its operations are backed by over a century of expertise in the energy industry and its experienced support teams around the world. I am convinced that Chevron’s arrival to ALTA will be of great benefit for all our members, for the aviation industry and for our countries, since it will greatly strengthen the campaigns that we have been developing to improve product supply in the region, opening markets and optimizing operations with the objective of reducing the cost of fuel in our countries. Chevron’s global experience, its commercial, technical and operational quality will undoubtedly help our industry to double its size over the next decade, thus generating economic and social benefit to the people we serve in a sustainable and environmentally responsible way”.
“At Chevron, we are committed to a responsible operation, executed with excellence, applying innovative technologies and capturing new opportunities for sustainable growth. Our commitment to the region has prompted us to seek more and better ways to share and implement best practices and this partnership with ALTA is an excellent way to do it”, says Martha O’meara, District Sales Manager Commercial Products Colombia for Chevron.
“It is imperative to generate competitive conditions in our countries to continue developing air transport and connect in an efficient, safe and environmentally responsible way all corners of Latin America and the Caribbean. The expertise that Chevron will bring to ALTA will be of great value in this task”, de Oliveira added.
