ITAérea and ALTA sign collaboration agreement to promote training activities in the region
Panama, January 9, 2019 – The agreement signed between ITAérea Aeronautical Business School and the Latin American and Caribbean Air Transport Association (ALTA) will allow both institutions to facilitate the access to an academic offer and training for airlines and public institutions staff in the region.
ITAérea Aeronautical Business School provides companies from the airport and aeronautical sectors with specific qualifications. With an international focus, ITAÉREA (www.itaerea.es) tries to respond, through its different training levels, to the employment demands existing in airports, airlines, air transport industry and suppliers.
ALTA’s Executive Director, Luis Felipe de Oliveira, comments: “Latin America and the Caribbean represents today 8% of global aviation and it is estimated that within the next 10 years the region will double the number of passengers. We are facing a very positive scenario and we must prepare ourselves as an industry to meet the growing demand in a safe, efficient and environmentally responsible manner. The agreement signed with ITAérea will allow us to contribute to the development of an even better-trained workforce in our countries. I am convinced that this agreement will be of great value to our members and, finally, to the populations served by air transport.”
ITAEREA’s Executive Director, José Ignacio Escudero Pérez, stated: “The purpose of this agreement is to allow ALTA members to access trainings in business management tools for the aviation industry. That way they will increase their profitability, operational efficiency, the effectiveness of marketing campaigns, and safety.”
The collaboration between both institutions will allow the execution of joint projects that serve to teaching, research and dissemination of culture in the aeronautical and airport fields, as well as any activity that directly or indirectly relates to this objective.
ITAérea is the first Business School specialized in airport and aeronautical management in the world by volume of students, offices and professors. ITAérea is a strategic partner of UNITAR (UN) and CIFAL Mérida (Mexico) to promote the development of training for air transport managers worldwide. It offers university degrees by the agreement signed with the Universidad a Distancia de Madrid (UDIMA). It is the first provider of management training for the Latin American region of the International Airports Council (ACI-LAC).
ALTA is a private non-profit association serving the airline industry whose objective is to develop a safer, more efficient, and sustainable aviation in Latin America and the Caribbean. ALTA coordinates collaborative efforts throughout the entire value chain maximizing the impact that aviation has on the economic and social growth of the region for the benefit of industry, nations, and populations served by air transport.
