Fleet Management Committee
As ALTA’s newest committee, the Fleet Management Committee was created at the request of airline CEOs and with support of the Technical Committee in order to better understand the necessity to lower costs in operations and aircraft lease back process. In a short time, the group has gained importance for airlines in the region as it works on improving and lowering costs and optimization of lease back procedures that most airlines lack on implementation. The committee meets twice a year, and the last meeting was held at ALTA’s headquarters in Miami in April. The Fleet Management Group works together with IATA’s Aircraft Lease Advisory Group (ALAG), where jointly they are working on a document for better lease back practices and procedures. They are also undertaking a new project on implementing and harmonizing physical maintenance documents and converting them into digital copies, which will optimize time and costs for aircraft transfer procedures, among others.
